Site Reliability Engineer

Ops.Dev is looking for a passionate Site Reliability Engineer. Both employees or freelancers based in Belgium (Flanders) are eligible for this position.

Ideally, you should have a “get shit done” mentality and embrace continuous learning. You will keep your clients’ software up and running after it’s “done”, meaning that you’re fine to participate in an on-call rotation. Doing the same thing twice? Preferably not, you will automate what you can. You will use cloud services wherever possible and believe there can never be enough metrics.

Helping our customers is part of our DNA and should be in yours as well so good analytical skills are important to have.

As this is a consulting opportunity, you are customer friendly and you can speak English. Dutch and French are optional.


Requirements

What we really want you to master

  • Knowledge of at least 1 of the following languages: Golang, Python, Nodejs, Java
  • Ability to write infrastructure code in CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Knows what a CICD pipeline is and can set one up
  • At least a basic knowledge of Linux and Docker
  • Hand on experience with AWS and Azure
  • Knows git and uses it for everything

How you would fit in even better

  • Ability to work with Docker Orchestration Tool (Kubernetes, EKS, OpenShift)
  • Has a first experience with monitoring/alerting systems (Prometheus, New Relic, Datadog)
  • Basic knowledge of networking principles like load balancing CIDR blocks etc…
  • Already worked with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Knows how test classes work and knows the basics of code testing
  • Knows how a database (SQL-NOSQL) works and knows how to connect with it
  • Has experience in setting up a high availability applications
  • Basic knowledge of rest API’s and Microservices
